What kind of errors are you getting? You should have SP1 installed. What version of jre? For oracle 8i, it should 1.1.8, not 1.4.2 or whatever it is that you have. If that is a new installation, why are you installing 8i and not 9i? Old versions like 8i can be tricky to install.
