administering oracle is not really an issue cause sql*plus is sql*plus regardless, now from the OS side, Solaris can be a pain to bring scripts from other *nixes over to the sun world. I've written scripts that work flawlessly on linux, port to HP, port to AIX all w/NO changes, move to sun and have to tweak things.

and ONLY sun put oratab in /var/opt/oracle instead of /etc :)
