Yes, after installing HP-UX 11.11 , you need Oracle 7.3.4 for that version. As you are on migration path
you can request Oracle Support to provide that version binaries. After installing OS and Oracle binaries, you should copy over your Datafiles/contoldfiles and redologs and after setting env properly you can statrtup your database on new box. It requires some steps which I don't remember now as we did it 2/3 years back the same excercise at my previous employer.

Export from 7.3.4 and import in a higher version is another option if your database size is not that big.
Oracle 9i on HP-UX 11.x is available on 64 bit only.

Rafiq

Hi,

We have the task of finally upgrading our 7.3.4 db We have a new test-bix with HP-UX 11.11 and our old development-bix is on HP-UX 10.20

I have found several docs stating that in order to migrate at same time also upgrading OS at different machines we need to install 7.3.4 on HP-UX 11 before we can use the migration utility. Is this true ? Is this still available at Oracle?
Any tips and trics on these kinds of migration ? Is it quicker to use export and import for these kind of migrations?

Thanks in advance,

Jeroen
