Paul this question rolls around every once in a while:

to summarize:

   dog/pony shows, new features( the theory ) boatloads of people: go to openworld

   realistic implementation of new features, truths behind the marketing hype, less people but alot more interesting group: go to IOUG conference, the real deal technical presentations are likely to be at ioug conference(and you have a better chance to get into them w/less people).

joe, 1 time openworld attendee, 7yr ioug attendee but missed this year due to EMT class.
