There is a new 9i feature that may be helpful. Use this link (you'll have to patch it back together, and then search for "address" http://www.csis.gvsu.edu/GeneralInfo/Oracle/appdev.920/a96590/adgsec02.htm#1 006752
This describes a new Oracle9i feature called application context, part of fine-grained access control.

Dear All,

Can somebody help me on this question ?
I have a db server with ip address, say ip1 and an application server with ip address say, ip2 ?
Can I say in my Oracle db server that I will accept only the connections from ip2 ? ( some sort firewall rule)

Thanks and regards,
Pradeep
