SWAP is used by the Operating System.
Almost all OSs today, follow a 'Virtual Memory' model. The swap area on disk supplements the actual physical memory.

SunOS 5.8, Oracle 8.1.7
top:
Memory: 3072 real, 49M free, 4231M swap in use, 131M swap free

What utility is it possible to look that uses a file? Like Task Manager in Win2K?

Thanks
Ed
