Stephan,

    When I attempt to set NLS_DATE_FORMAT to the mask, I recieve an error (ORA-01816: month may only be specified once). Are you sure the value is actually set to use a month (MON and MM) mask twice? If the NLS_DATE_FORMAT is actually set to DD-MON HH24:MI:SS, the discrepancy is explained by the incorrect format mask in the TO_CHAR function.
