Interesting you should mention 'ctl-k'.

A member of this list some years ago wrote a shell script that redirected stdio and stdout for sqlplus through the shell, allowing std shell command line history to work with sqlplus on unix systems.

I've used this script in the past, and it worked. The copy of it that I have now does not seem to work though. If any of you shell gurus would like to take a whack at it, it's available at
