Hamid

Which Oracle version are you on? Oracle has worked very hard to bring down the cost of a checkpoint, so I don't think this is such a big deal anymore. Also, this tends not to be such a great thing for production databases because you can affect recoverability.

Hi all,

I have changed the log_checkpoint_interval from 10,000 to 999,999,9 based on the oracle performance tips & techniques page 735 and change log_checkpoint_timeout from 1800 to Zero, after I analyze the Statspack report I got a recommendation for this setting as follows: Make sure that all the redo log files are at least 4882 MB in size, this way you checkpoint with a log file switch. There were 2 checkpoints started and 1 completed in this measurement period.

Suprise!! any body have any idea???
Appreciate
