Well as someone who's looking for a change, i'm about to finish up EMT basic in the US. my goal is 5 yrs to be entirely debt free, including having house paid off(and i'm track so far). Then i can go to school(nursing, paramedic, physician assistant, not quite sure yet) so i can be back in the medical field.

I think its definitely something to think about.
