The recommendations for interfaces with histories have all been GUI's. You just don't understand. Think how bluegrass music rots your mind. You listen to a little bit of it, and before you know it, you are spending the rest of your life sitting in front of a gas station, half of your teeth missing, playing a banjo. Well .... GUI's are worse than that.

Not only that, but using GUI's makes hair grow on the palms of your hands.

There is a public service movie being made called "GUI Madness". Please hurry and get it release!

(Actually, running sqlplus in a "DOS" window, you can use the arrow keys to
scroll up to old commands. But Unix vendors have chosen not to provide DOS window when you log into the Unix box.)
