The only way to connect again without a "Shutdown in progress" error was via svrgmrl/internal. Has anyone run into this on V9 instance and had to resort to Unix kills? 2) The # is an acceptable comment delimiter in SVRMGR but is completely ignored in sqlplus. Not good if you are commenting out DML/DDL (what were they thinking?). In V9 does the tracefile produced by a 'backup controlfile to trace' still use the # to begin comment lines?
