very funny, but I asked because sometimes developers create 'zombies' on our UNIX server.  

Why would being chained to a desk that is connected to Oracle be punishment? I don't understand...

Yes, the process is called "logging out" and I normally let them do that. Keeping them tied to their computers would be a cruel and unusual punishment,
against the company policy and probably illegal.

Does anyone have a dynamic script that would let users kill their own sessions?   

I found something in Metalink but the script doesn't appear to verify whether the PID and SID supplied belongs to the person executing the procedure... not ideal.
