>From what I've been exposed to so far, it relates to your role as security administrator. A lot of the regulations define what is private information that needs to be protected (i.e. current health conditions.) They must me kept private from everyone (even the DBA's) not in the ownership or the chain of possession (like a doctor or health insurance claims handler.) This means separation of the security duties on granting and controlling access to the private data, auditing of use and changes (but again, not the DBA.) If you don't have one yet, you'll probably be getting a Privacy Officer or some kind of title like that.

I'm still working on how to fulfill the requirement of configuring security and auditing, turn it all over to the security personnel while still performing the day-to-day database management activities *and* prove that I can't compromise the private data with my privileges. And they say it's hard to sell ice cubes in Alaska.
