Ya get what ya pay for...or less. If they get a DBA for $45K, they'll most likely get someone who takes at least twice the time to perform any given task as it would take an experienced $90K DBA. When you add in the cost of business interruption, the comparison looks even worse. The problem many companies experience is that they don't know how to hire properly and, quite often, end up paying $70K for a DBA worth $35K or less -- and they think they're getting a bargain.
