This is a strictly oracle users group sinardy so avoid asking such questions .... though i will answer this one ....

    try

            Process runProcess = Runtime.getRuntime().exec("ps -eaf");

where ps -eaf is your unix command. You can even get the results from a command, but you will have to do a bit more research on it.
