Tom, initially try typing this at a command prompt c:\>set|more

and look for ORACLE_SID and ORACLE_HOME in the list of system variables to make sure
these are set correctly.

I have seen references to this error and how to repair it on UNIX systems, but what is to be done on Win2000 when this thing rears its ugly head?
