HACMP

I am reading the HACMP docs and the goal is to run a rotating standby configuration for our Oracle database. If server A goes down server B will mount the EMC file system and mount the database. Obviously all new connections get directed towards the server B. My confusion comes from understanding how the I.P. addresses are going to be configured. It looks like one box can literally assume the I.P. of the other box in the cluster. My trouble is box B is also running another application that will fail over to box A. Of course it needs it's own IP address so the clients can access the application. I am sure there are various possibilities and I would be interested in knowing if any of this does not sound technically feasible from someone with HACMP experience.

Thanks,
Ethan Post
