Tom.

A number of things, at least in my experience, can cause the problems you are having. The media(the blank CD's) depending on what you are recording certain types of CD's are better than others and the play back device may not be able to properly read the CD recording. I have recorded music CD's that play fine on my CD player at work but do not work in my car CD player. Check the manual or online help that came with your system for more information specific to your hardware. I do not use my burner for games so I do not have any experience in that regard.

My guess is that you burned the cd correctly, so to speak, just some of these or similar factors came into play. Have fun with your cd burner, I love mine even with these limitaions. So far I have been able to get around most of them to suit my needs.

Off Topic: I bought a PC this weekend that had my first every CDROM burner. I
couldn't wait to use it. I burned several game CD's (Age of Empires, Return Fire II, Roller coaster Tycoon) and none of them worked. The games just hung
when I ran them. Bummer. Is it not possible to make copies of my CD's or am I
doing something wrong?
