I read Cary Millsap's message (on newsgroup or a mailing list). Based on my understanding, he says if user transactions come in less frequently, fewer faster CPUs (like on HP typically) gives better response time; if transactions come in frequently, it's better to have more slower CPUs (typically what Sun does).
