Re: Recovering WITHOUT tablespaces

Where I work, our databases are so big that we do it this way all the time. You need to restore the SYSTEM tablespace, at least one rollback tablespace, and any tablespaces you're interested in recovering from. You'll also need to have a copy of a 'backup controlfile to trace' script. You edit that script to include on the files you're recovering and use it to bring up the database.
