set term off

Anyone had any problems with setting term off? I'm running 8.1.7 and I go to do this

sqlplus -s /nolog
set term off
conn username/passwd
Connected.

Any idea how I can get rid of the "Connected." message? I will be putting this in a script so I can tail it to get rid of the string "Connected." but this is basic stuff.

Thanks, Dave Turner
