which version to move on 8.0.6 or 8.1.7

Hi,

My production database is on 7.3.4.5, OPS on SOlaris2.6 E5000 Cluster ( Though we are using only one node all the time )
Database is around 200Gig. Developer2000 R2.1 application, heavy back end procedures and packages, a lot of PL/SQL tables ( there are around 500 procedure/packages/functions)

We are planning for an upgrade for some enhanced security features, now the question is which is better version 8.0.6 or 8.1.7 given the background of the application. There are 500 users using the system. I need some pointers / suggestions please.
