I ran sql analyze and it came back with a recommended index
CREATE INDEX MAIN_ID
     ON MAIN
        (MAIN_ID,
         "LAST",
         FIRST)
    LOGGING
    INITRANS 2
    MAXTRANS 255
    TABLESPACE INDX
    PCTFREE 0
    STORAGE (
        INITIAL 128K
        NEXT 128K
        PCTINCREASE 0
        MINEXTENTS 1
        MAXEXTENTS 1024);

Why is the second column in quotes "LAST"  - what does this do?
