RPT or Procedural SQL; and did the entire documentation fit into two or three
loose-leaf binders?
Personally, although I've been working with Oracle since 1986, I don't really feel that I have 15 years worth of Oracle experience. On one hand, I haven't ever touched some areas of 8 and 8i so I'm about 3 or 4 years behind. On the other hand, much of what I've done, is probably trivial or even obsolete. Would I boast that I created over 1000 Oracle users? ran the export utility over 9000 times? built hundreds of SQL*Plus scripts and forms (in SQL*Forms version 2.3) On the other hand, I would say that I recovered from about 3 or 4 db disasters, survived 8 or 9 IS managers... I been here since 1985, Good old Version 3 on a Heath-Zenith Z-248 with 2MB of ram. Anyone out there remember the old IAG/IAP & RPT/RPF???
Seems like we've come a long way since then. Maybe one of these days there will come a time when we have nothing more to learn about databases. Guess I won't have to worry about, should have a nice crop of Daisies above me when that day comes. Until then, I'm still having fun.

I started with 4.1.0 in 1983.... Been working with Oracle in the last 4-5 jobs. Still like it.
My largest area is keeping it running smooth and fast and database trending, but I've pretty much done it all.
Started IT, then EDP... in 1971... :-P
