All,

I have serveral questions for evreybody on Veritas failover and user sessions.

  1. When an instance failover by a 3rd party tool like Veritas, what happens to the current open sessions? Do they failover as well?
  2. If they can failover with the instance, what kind of configuration, if any, is required for the transparent failover to succeed?
  3. Is there any difference in failover feasibility and/or configuration whether a particular type of JDBC driver is used for that session, ie. JDBC thin driver vs. oci8 driver (type II vs IV)?
