Chandu,

We have actually tried to make the pricing scheme simpler by selling only one Oracle Tools product: Oracle Internet Developer Suite. So this is indeed the only way to purchase JDeveloper.

Mike Cox had a good suggestion: visit http://oraclestore.oracle.com to find pricing info on Oracle products.

When licensing the Oracle Internet Developer suite, there are a few options:

The single server license allows the named user to install the tools products on a single machine, whereas the multi server license allows that named user to install it on multiple machines (for example at work and at home)

Oracle Internet Developer Suite

NAMED USER SINGLE SERVER 4 YEAR $2,997.00
                         2 YEAR $1,748.00
                         Perpetual $4,995.00

NAMED USER MULTI SERVER 4 YEAR $3,747.00
                         2 YEAR $2,186.00
                         Perpetual $6,245.00

We are interested in your feedback - both on the complexity of the pricing scheme and on the fact that we only sell the suite. Feel free to send feedback to me and/or the list.

Thanks,
-Roel.

Hi everyone!

Our IT folks have been evaluating JDeveloper 3.1 for a while, and seems to have liked it. They are in the process of getting pricing info from Oracle, but the Oracle Sales guy either seemed to be new/ignorant to how Oracle's complex pricing scheme works, or was entangled in the bureaucracy, or has some other motives, but has failed to give any clear-cut answer so far.

So, I thought I could get some rough idea from our friends in the list as to what is the typical pricing for JDeveloper 3.1 or whatever version you have. You may reply personally to me if you want.

I will appreciate any useful information or pointers on the pricing of this product.

Thanks,
