To=20 Change Oracle SID on NT -- STEPS.

Go to=20 MS DOS Prompt. Give

Set Oracle_SID=3Dyour sid (Example: Set = Oracle_SID=20 =3D ORCL8).

Now,=20 go to svrmgr30 and connect internal.

Issue=20 the following command.

Select=20 name from v$database.

You=20 should see the name of your desired database.

Now,=20 you can perform what you want.

Dear DBAs !

A couple of questions :

I have a 8.1.5 installation on NT and = a DataBase=20 called ORA1 .

I want to install 8.1.6 as well on = the same=20 server .

The questions are :

How do i change the = ORACLE_HOME ?=20

Can i operate the "old" = ORA1 just=20 using the 8.1.6 software ?

I also want to create a different DB = . How do i=20 change the ORACLE_SID ?
