We have deployed and Java Application on oracle application server 10g release 2.

The application opens scanned Images and displays it on the screen and the user does data entry on a different browser based application run on a different Server. The applicartion allows status update of the image as what all stages of processing the image has gone thru.

The Imgages goes thru 5 stages of processing.

We have observed that although the image size is less than 1 MB mostly about 400 to 700k.

When users logs in the Allocation file size goes uo to 33MB. and when about 16 users are working there are a lot of allocation failures reported.

The system has 8GB memory.
The heap size is configure for 512 MB.

Any suggestions as to what could be the issue and what should we look at to reduce the allocation size and remove the allocation failure.

Thanks in advance for valuable inputs.
