I want to develope an application which will convert the excel sheet data into oracle database (Schema is already created in oracle database) Is it possible to develope such application using oracle forms?Is it possible to create forms that will give good GUI and will serve the purpose?
I am new to forms. Please help me out. if you have any idea regarding this.

Searching this Forum you will find several examples and posts on this topic.

As for creating a Basic FORM to read/write to EXCEL, please refer to message #124560 this will give you a good start.

Kindly let us know if this is what you are looking for.

NOTE: if you are planning to load a COMPLETE Excel Sheet and don't want to use partial data from excel, you'd better use SQL LOADER.

I am totally new to the oracle forms. Can anybody tell me step by step detail procedure of transforming excel data to oracle data using oracle forms? Thanks in advance.

HI There,

In my previous Post, I have directed you to and Older Message (#124560) in this FORUM that has the code and some details on connecting and getting data from Excel into Oracle Forms.

Please try to use this code and let us know if it is working.

I am currently using a similar code now and it is working perfectly well.
