Hi everyone,

First off i just want to say thank you for reading my post and giving me advice. Now let me tell you my story.

I was hired as an Oracle functional consultant. Training for 11i modules specifically for the manufacturing industry. So my training involved Inventory, OM, BOM, WIP, Purchasing, and Planing. It was intense, i can honestly say i learned enough to grasp the concept and how to implement it. I completed the training in approx. 8 wks. All was well until my boss asked me to do some unethical and immoral task. To make a long story short, i decided to quit rather then commiting to such duties. Now I'm jobless and feeling lost. Sad Good news is that i still have the Oracle knowledge and i like it. Razz

So if anyone can give me some advice on how to start a career with the knowledge i have that would be great. I would like to stay with the functional consultant line of work, however with zero exp. under my belt i doubt anyone would look at my resume.

Have a look at a couple of my previous posts. There may be something in there that helps you find your next job.

PS NEVER mention the issue you had with your previous position in an interview. It could be libellous and it certainly will not sound good. Come up with another reason why you left.

Hi David,

Thanks for your advice, i just read the threads and its a starting point. I'm pretty much along the frugal path and hunting for positions that pay at slave labor rate. Do you know if there any Oracle certs relating to the 11i or 12i modules? From what i heard its mainly all DBA stuff.

thanks
pascal

Certification in a way does help but it is not guaranteed that you will get a job on that basis.

so it is try out situation....

Give Interviews and break in that if lucky you will get in ..thats all...
