dear sir

this doc is about installing forms6i on win2000 server,
i have installed it on my home pc.
before installing forms 6i , oracle 8.1.5 was working fine , but after installing forms6i , sqlplues of oracle 8.1.5 giving error ora-12571 : TNS packet writer failure and forms 6i is also not connected . i ahve installed oracle and forms6i under diffren oracle home and dir.

You may want to verify the syntax of your tnsnames.ora file.

The tnsnames.ora file appears fine.

You should check the oradim.log file for errors. There definitely seems to be a problem with the service if the service is staying in the starting phase.
