Hai ,

Need urgent help...
We have production and standby setup.
We dropped a tablespace (2 datafiles ) in production and recreated with no change.
when the archive file is coming to stand by server it is throwing error
ora-01111 name for datafile num is unknow rename to correct file.

I did like this

alter database rename file '' to '';

After that i gave the following command
recover database using backup controlfile until cancel;


now it is throwng a different error.

ora-01203 wrong incarnation of this file - wron creation SCN.

Whether i have to recreate the tablespace in standby server in mount stage..

Can you please any body help in this ?

Please find the details ..Both primary and standby ..

Database version is 8.1.6.1.0
OS is solaris 5.8

when you add datafile to primary file, number for newly added file is not same as what you had before(number for datafile which you dropped) and hence stadnby is trying to locate those files and was not able to.

My feeling is you may end up in recreating standby database.
