i am a little bit confused about GLOBAL_DBNAME, SERVICE_NAME, DB_DOMAIN, FULL HOST NAME.
for example:
instance_name=ORCL
db_name=ORCL
host_name=prt
internet_domain=odu.edu

what is db_domain? is "prt.odu.edu" or "odu.edu"?
what is GLOBAL_DBNAME?
what is SERVICE_NAME?

what are the difference among them?
how are GLOBAL_DBNAME and SERVICE_NAME related?

anybody can give me a clear explaination? or give me a link to the article that can explain these.

thanks

select global_name from global_name;

Global_Name = Db_Name.Db_domain
