hi xperts,

Can anyone tell me

1. Is there any formula to find out the total disk space needed for single database in oracle i.e., space for all the components including data, control file, redo logs, oracle s/w,system tablespaces, indexes etc.".

2 . How can we calculate the the sizes of each and every component .

Please suggest some document for this ASAP .

Hi, too much of a 'piece of string' question. There is no check list. If you download the documentation (check out tahiti.oracle.com), google, search AskTom.oracle, and search these forums, there's plenty of similar questions, all come up with pretty much the same answer i.e. "It all depends" Tom suggests benchmarking (testing)
Here is 1 such discussion @ AskTom
