Hi,

I cloned a database by manually copying the database files but I missed some datafiles. I've already created the controlfile and did open resetlogs.

I only found out about the MISSING files when some query is giving ORA-376 which means as below:

00376, 00000, "file %s cannot be read at this time"
// *Cause: attempting to read from a file that is not readable. Most likely
// the file is offline.
// *Action: Check the state of the file. Bring it online

Before I redo the clone/copy and wait for hours, I want to know whether copying the missing files and re-creating the controlfile again will work.

Please advises. Thanks.

COPY AND PASTE what you did and got and what you now see from the dictionary.

Before, Please read OraFAQ Forum Guide and How to use [code] tags and make your code easier to read.
Make sure that lines of code do not exceed 80 characters when you format.
Indent the code, use code tags and align the columns in result.
Use the "Preview Message" button to verify.
Also always post your Oracle version, with 4 decimals.

Regards
Michel

You got the same answer in other forum.
How could you expect we give any help with no information?
