I am considering all of the capabilities and benefits of using Data Pump for exporting and importing extremely large data files. Would like to know if importing to tape is possible? If so, would the data be accessible if needed later?

Thanks

expdp & impdp operate against standard OS disk files.
All tape operations are between you & tape MML.

So, does your answer mean that I will be able to import to tape?

What specifically is MML?

Documentation says:

Sequential media, such as tapes and pipes, are not supported.

Even if you could do that, what an awful performance it would be! Imagine your "extremely large" amount of data accessed while on tape. Horr ... ible!
