Responsibility: Build and Manage a team of datawarehouse developers who will be developing a Unified Client DataWarehouse for Life, Group, Equity, BrokerDealer, Disability, Trust, Pensions, and other lines of business in a Financial services company.

Details: Requires an in-depth knowledge and understanding of all phases of the Data Warehouse development cycle, from the business requirements and source system analysis phases through the extract, transformation, and load (ETL) processes. The source systems include VSAM, DB2, IMS, and Oracle. Must be able to effectively define and implement a 'change data' capture strategy, data quality assessment, and data integrity verification techniques. Must be familiar with data dictionary/metadata concepts, and the various methods available for collection, storage, and publication of metadata. Must be proficient in data modeling concepts, as well as the physical implications of database implementation, with an emphasis on DB2 environments, and must be able to effectively interface with the database administration area. Must be sufficiently familiar with programming concepts to manage teams of programmers, particularly in the MVS/JES2/COBOL environment, and provide production support as necessary. Must also be familiar with the GUI end user query and OLAP/MOLAP tools currently available, such as Cognos' Impromptu and PowerPlay.

Effective organizational skills are essential to this position, as this person will manage multiple high-visibility projects with budgets in excess of one million dollars. This position also requires the ability to communicate effectively to all levels within the company, from programmers and business users, to data base administrators and modelers, to senior management on both the business and technical sides.

Salary: Commensurate with Experience
