Hello,
1-I would like to know what command gives the amount of space available on a directory on Linux(say the /tmp directory). I tried(as the root user) but the result was rather the amount of space available on the entire filesystem which the tmp directory resides on.
2-Besides, is it possible, when creating a directory, to indicate the size we want that directory to have by default on creation?
3-Is it possible (using a command for example) to "add" some space to a directory by a way other than deleting unnecessary files?
Thanks in advance.

Although you might get the answer here, please, keep in mind that this is Oracle FAQ forum, not Linux one. Therefore, perhaps you should ask such a question elsewhere, as stated in the OraFAQ Forum Guide:Quote: | please ask any non-Oracle questions elsewhere. It will be to your advantage.
