Hi,
I have set up one way replication from Production to backup server. It is working fine but in Oracle Enterprise Manager there is Wait in "ACTIVE SESSION" graph.
In message window it is showing following
Waits by Wait Class Database Time Spent Waiting (%) Metrics "Database Time Spent Waiting (%)" is at 30.80856 for event class "Other"
and in finding following is the message
Wait event "Streams capture: waiting for archive log" in wait class "Other" was consuming significant database time.
But top command in linux is not showing any visible use of cpu and Memory
I am using local capture, why it is waiting for archivelog?.
I did manual log switch and new archive log created, but no change
And this finding is there and not going. So what should we do

This is an idle wait so it is not a performance problem. It's just the capture process saying it has nothing to do because it is waiting for another archive log to become available. It isn't wasting any system resources or affecting performance. There is no action necessary for this wait.
