I uninstall oracle9i from my drive D:\ & I also formatted dive D:\ (only ). From drive c:\ I also deleted folder " oracle " under program file.
Now when I reinstall oracle9i then it ask for SID & i enter " orcl " and message appears " The SID you have specified already exists on the machine. please specify different SID ".
what if I want to use the same SID "orcl", then what step\procedure should i follow.
For your information :

2. OS version : win xp professional sp2 With oracle 9i

Deleting (i.e. formatting) Oracle files is quite different from *uninstalling* Oracle. A quick search returned this page:Uninstall Oracle 9i. See what has been suggested and follow these steps.
Besides, wouldn't you rather install a more recent 10g (or even 11g) Oracle database? 9i has been desupported since July 2007 (if I'm not wrong).
