I want to check if any directory is created for reading/writing files using utl_file.Iam not able to create a new directory as i dont have the privilige but i just want to check if any directory is already created by some one else.can any one help?

Check out ALL_DIRECTORIES.

Thanks for your response.There is no entry in all_directories table.Does that mean there is no directory created for utl_file purpose?

It means there is no directory acccessible to you.
