i think that pga is allocate it's size in server ram
not depend's on sga


and what about db_buffer_cache

What about DB_BUFFER_CACHE?
It works fine & lasts a long time.

Rather than flail around asking random question I suggest that your time would be better spent by Reading The Fine Manual below!

Hi:

please give the version of your db?

if it was 10g, you can use the sga_target to manage the sga automatically and pga_xxx_target to manage pga automatically
