Hi,

I see we are unable to login to database using global database.

[oracle@sl73usircd01 ~]$ sqlplus DEMO@DB1.COM

SQL*Plus: Release 11.2.0.3.0 Production on Mon Mar 11 14:47:31 2013

Copyright (c) 1982, 2011, Oracle.  All rights reserved.

Enter password:
ERROR:
ORA-12154: TNS:could not resolve the connect identifier specified


Enter user-name:

May i know why we are unable to login to database using global database name ?

the string to the right of the at sign character ("@") is a TNS_ALIAS; which has NO direct relationship to global name.

post content of appropriate tnsnames.ora file
