Hi,

I completed Oracle 9i Developer OCA.

Now i want to shift to oracle 10g DBA.
So there are 2 papers for Oracle 10g DBA
1. Administration I 042
2. Administration II 043

Question:
1. So i heard that there is need to join at least 1 cource to complete OCP is it right?
2. There is need to complete exams and a cource within 1 year otherwise certifications beomes invalid. Is it true?

Please guide me.

Thanks,

Excuse me for my ignorance, but I would trust Oracle's advise more than tips from people I don't know.
I really don't understand why everyone always asks these kind of questions here instead of phoning Oracle.

Yes, we need to complete at least one paper for OCP from oracle corp. or oracle prometric centre, it can be NIIT, SSI, ORACLE CORP, APTECH etc.

2. There is need to complete exams and a cource within 1 year otherwise certifications beomes invalid. Is it true?
It is completely FALSE.

Thanks a lot Mohammad,

2. There is need to complete exams and a cource within 1 year otherwise certifications beomes invalid. Is it true?
It is completely FALSE.

So can i assume that i can give Administration I and Administration II certifications now.
So i will get OCA only because i have not joined any cource from oracle.

And afterwards (suppose after 2 years) i will complete the oracle course then i will get OCP. So no problem to get OCP certification in that case.

Am i right?

This is the Oracle Documentation 10g page; as you have already worked with Oracle, I guess you are familiar with Concepts. So, perhaps you could start with the 2 Day DBS book, which means that we'll see you back here on 8th of October, with a new question.
