Predictions:
- Someone is about to re-invent functional data languages
(Datalog).
- The re-invention of Datalog will lead to a re-discovery of why
functional languages (while useful in their own context) aren't really useful for scalable data management (optimization needs an algebra). - Everyone will agree that SQL sucks but nothing can be done about it.
