It must be good. Galaxy Books in the UK want over £130 for a copy!

I don't know why you'd hesitate to refer to a purportedly practical book on a theory group. Database management is a practical matter. Any so-called theory of database management that doesn't facilitate the practice would be nothing but self-indulgent conjecture. Theorists (should) want to know about what goes on in practice just as much as practitioners should want to know what theory has to say.

I've never seen the book. The reviews on Amazon are glowing but when it comes to Amazon reviews I am a cynic so I do wonder if it panders to bad habits, defective intuitions, and superstition? I hope someone who has actually seen it will tell us more.
