For selling the best genes on the market, research would require them to be decoded before being proved as really effective and sold...Which implies that serious research to find *gene of intelligence* would be required to put any effective product on the market. Now , remember the monkeys's scene in Idiocracy:

Best brains had so much pressure from a dumbed down public their main effort on searching a way for making the monkey have a longer erection....Somehow, I doubt that dumber people will demand to get smarter AND if some pseudo intelligence genes are sold on the market they are likely to be either fake or provoke side effects . I find it reasonnable to assume that people will simply demand research for finding instant gratification discoveries..The dumbing down process is a one way ticket...
