I don't know much about ANSI and ISO standards but I think they don't
define the implementations.
Depending on the way the backend was designed, the DBMS can be more
performant to do this or that.
I want a DBMS to be fast and stable, that's it. Proprietary features are just a bonus for special applications.
I don't understand why.
About the price I would rather get a free DBMS like PostgreSQL -which is
very good, by the way-
