Agreed... he seems to disregard the relational model, to lack a clear understanding of what's exactly a data model and the levels of design, and to be too fond of ERDs.
OTOH, I am really tired of doing everything from scratch... universal data models should really be there, only with a better foundation... I'll try to coach my bosses into allowing me to post what we develop here, perhaps... it won't be quite A-OK, but perhaps good enough for starters.
